Fleece

Fleece

Alpacas are bred for their fleece. The Incas referred to it as, ‘the fibre of the gods’ – and the Inca civilization should know! It is fine, soft and warm – it does not contain lanolin, so is not greasy, and it is not prickly on the skin.

We use all of our fleece for garments, cuddly teddies and other imaginative creations felted, knitted and woven – we have built a bright, warm, fibre workshop and studio where classes are held. We have a mixed colour herd so that we have a range of colours to work with. Visit the Apple Knit website for spinning and felting courses.
